3X – Explore, Expand, Extract: is the brainchild of Kent Beck, father of eXtreme Programming (XP), and could be the unified theory of everything from the hackathon to Waterfall; from lean startups to incumbents.

When is hacking on an idea and pushing it to production the right thing to do? When do the disciplines of XP kick in? When do methodologies like SAFe or even Waterfall begin to make sense? Not only can 3X unshackle us from applying the wrong practices and methodologies at the wrong times, it can help us find answers to challenges of organisational culture and provide a common language for everyone from the CEO to the apprentice developer.

In this talk, Antony Marcano introduces 3X and explains how it can inform our approach to everything from product development & software craftsmanship to change & company culture.
